Report: Dallas Cowboys RT La’el Collins leaves Friday’s practice with a stinger – Blogging The Boys

The Dallas Cowboys are two days away from their final preseason game, but they are now less than two weeks until the regular season itself begins.

Waters were calmed this week when Dak Prescott returned to team drills as the franchise quarterback is the most important player on the team. Just how much the team needs him was highlighted last season when the Cowboys imploded after he went down in Week 5.

The Cowboys lost a lot of players last year, though, and one who never even began it was right tackle La’el Collins. Up until last week all seemed relatively well with Collins, but he left last Wednesday’s practice complaining of stiffness in the neck/shoulder area. He left Friday’s practice with a stinger which doesn’t exactly inspire a ton of confidence.

First he left practice last week neck/shoulder stiffness and now he leaves practice with a stinger.

I’m no doctor, but that doesn’t seem ideal. https://t.co/gbtXkLVavQ

Thankfully things don’t appear to be too serious with Collins at the moment, but this is too slippery of a slope to feel comfortable. Things like stingers can hover around for a while and at present moment the Cowboys don’t exactly have a swing tackle that is inspiring confidence.

Ty Nsekhe currently occupies that role, and while he has also dealt with injury this preseason period, he has not impressed the way that people hoped when the team signed him this offseason. Roster cuts will be happening around the league early next week and it would behoove the Cowboys to make sure that they are prepared with depth at tackle.
