Recap of Dallas Cowboys training camp practice #9 in Oxnard (tweets + videos), joint practice w/ Rams – Blogging The Boys

The Dallas Cowboys played their first preseason game, the Hall of Fame game, on Thursday night. Even though they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 16-3, there were still some good things to come out of it. Now they are back in Oxnard and they welcome the Los Angeles Rams for a joint practice. Here is what happened in the session today.

Yes, the Rams were in the house.

Good news on Dak.

Stephen Jones on Dak Prescott (shoulder strain) via Cowboys’ stream: “Got an A ++ report today from the trainer…he is doing outstanding. No concerns on him being ready to go this year.”

Dak Prescott actually did a little bit today. Okay a very little bit. But still.

Mike McCarthy said Dak Prescott has made some light throws.

Cooper Rush did not practice.

Cooper Rush not at practice, which leaves the Cowboys with two available QBs – Garrett Gilbert and Ben DiNucci – with Dak Prescott not throwing.

Cowboys QB Cooper Rush is dealing with a shoulder injury, Mike McCarthy said. He suffered it during Hall of Fame Game vs. Steelers. Missed practice today.

A good interior matchup.

As usual in these practices, things got a little chippy.

That didn’t last long. Fight breaks out during Cowboys’ first 11-on-11. LG Connor Williams and Rams DT Aaron Donald at center ot it, yanking each other’s face mask behind play. They just had two 1-on-1 reps vs. each other on opposite side of field. Williams not backing down. https://t.co/AAKdLAczYT pic.twitter.com/fFIT85lgKM

More chippiness.

Keanu Neal gets a little bit rough.

Not on LC’s watch.

Beautiful.

Score one for Cowboys WR Michael Gallup. Excellent catch and body control on fade route TD. His second score during 11-on-11 and first while contested. pic.twitter.com/IgxTF6hDyU

Another look.

Looks like the Rams forgot to cover someone.

CeeDee just doing his thing.

Zeke getting some work.

Connor McGovern going to school.

Maurice Canady keeps doing his thing.

This reminds us a little too much of last year.

Garrett Gilbert keeps progressing.

Sharp team period for Garrett Gilbert with TD passes to Michael Gallup, CeeDee Lamb and Rico Dowdle.
